Diane Heidkruger is the German actress and former fashion model, born on 15th of July, 1976, in Algermissen near Hildesheim, Germany. She started her career as the dancer in London at the younger age, but after meeting with an injury, she changed her mind and moved to Paris for becoming a model there. Her education in the Arts stream enabled her to learn speaking perfect English and French besides her mother tongue / language – the German. At the age of just 15, she was the finalist for Elite’s 1992 ‘Look of the Year.’ Kruger developed interest for acting and took lessons at the Cours Florent. Kruger made some small appearances in a few French movies and then she decided of changing her last name for her movie career, and that’s how she became ‘Diane Kruger’ from ‘Diane Heidkruger.’

Diane Kruger made her on screen debut appearance in 2002 starring opposite Dennis Hopper and Christopher Lambert in The Piano Player, the TV movie made by Jean Pierre Roux. Kruger played Julie Wood in Michel Vaillant in 2003 and Lisa in Wicker Park in the year 2004, along side Josh Hartnett and Rose Byrne. Kruger married with French actor Guillaume Canet on September 1, 2001. They have filed their divorce petition but are yet working together. Kruger has been dating Canadian actor Joshua Jackson. Kruger was host of the opening and closing ceremonies of the 60th Cannes Film Festival, in 2007.
